We've been eating here for 20 plus years. The food is excellent, but not the prices. The price for Teriyaki Salmon went from $17 to $21 to $27 in the last several years. And the issue is the hours. The boardwalk is crowded, food places everywhere. This place closes at 8, 8:30 Fri/Sat. It's so disappointing. What is the reason it can't be open til at least 9 -- Prime boardwalk time! Many nights we rush to get there. Even if we're there a half hour before closing, it's so annoying that they're sweeping up around us with a vengeance! What's the big rush? It's such a tense and anti-shore relaxation atmosphere!

I always go here and get the hula chicken, but I just had the Poke bowl and it is unbelievably fresh and delicious. Nice healthy option on the boardwalk, where there are not a lot of healthy foods!

Stopped by the Hula Restaurant on Monday for lunch and tried the Ahi Poke Bowl special and OMG it was so good, service was great, food came out fast, the portions and presentation were perfect. If you are looking for new boardwalk favorite I would definitely recommend when your in OC!

It’s that time of year! It’s automatic that we come here 1-2 times everytime we come to OC. The Hawaiian chicken plate and firecracker shrimp is our go to and we split half and half. Everything on the menu is great and being a hula veteran, it’s true when people say the consistency is carried throughout the years. Another green flag is it has been the same staff for a long time. Food comes out insanely fast and is in the back corner of boardwalk away from seagulls for the most part. Highly recommended and will always be back for more. Even when busy, it’s not too loud. Enjoyable meal each time. Aside from a large menu, the children’s options are also good. Best French fries on the boardwalk.

Ate here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. For a small place , the food was surprisingly good. You order at the counter, they give you a number to put on your table outside and they bring you your food. If your looking for a break from fried boardwalk fare, this will be a nice change of pace.
